On this day in 1980, we released our debut album 'Crocodiles'. Recorded at Eden Studios and Rockfield Studios. Production was done by Bill Drummond, Dave Balfe and Ian Broudie. Rolling Stone gave the album 4/5 & Record Mirror 5/5.

On this day in 1997, Echo & the Bunnymen released their seventh studio album, Evergreen. The album reached number 8 in the UK charts and became the band's fifth top 10 album. String arrangements were made by Adam Peters, who brought in the London Metropolitan Orchestra. The cover art features a Citroen DS, which Will Sergeant explained was chosen because "it's a cool car, nothing else."
